The Graham-Cassidy bill, which would have repealed and replaced components of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) expires on 9/30/17 without enough support for a vote by the Senate.
The ACA Remains in Full Effect
Continued compliance with the ACA is required at this time. We will continue to monitor any upcoming regulations affecting employers. Those components that may see changes include:
- Cadillac Tax
- Birth Control Benefits
- HRA Employers / HRA Employees, HSA, and FSA parameters
- Nondiscrimination requirements
- Employer mandate
What does this mean for the ACA?
Restarting this process will require a bipartisan 2018 budget resolution to draft and vote on any 2018 bills related to the replacement or reform of the ACA.
